"A taste of the 19th century around Paris"

Malmaison / Maison Fournaise & its Museum / Castle of Monte Cristo

A splendid day around Paris to discover beautiful sights related to the 1800 until 1890's.
Pick-up from your hotel and start with the visit of the castle of Malmaison, bought by the couple Josephine & Napoleon to be their private home. Josephine designed it with a lot of style and also landscaped a rose garden and park. The castle is a real jewel where she lived until her death in 1814. Furniture, paintings, a great place to follow Napoleon & Josephine life. Drive to the island of Chatou nearby; lunch booked in a typical restaurant where the Impressionist painters would stay in their days in the second half of the century. Continue with the visit of the Museum Fournaise on the same spot. Many famous painters like Monet, Renoir, Pissarro, Manet, etc. spent time there. The prettiest place around Paris as would say Augustus Renoir. You can go back in time, to the Fournaise hamlet by using a virtual reality headset.
End your day by visiting the Monte Cristo castle. Owned and built by the famous French writer Alexander Dumas. Both a renaissance style and a gothic castle. He was at the height of his fame when he had this built, with novels such as the three Musketeers.
Discover the castle with the Morrish saloon, the chateau d'if and the park.
End back at your hotel
